We would like to give emo Joey a hug.

This week’s episode took place in Montreal, y’all. We started with a group date consisting of Daisy, Lexi, Rachel, Kelsey A, Jess, Katelyn, Lea, Jess, and of course Joey. Let’s just say it was a tough one. Feelings grew stronger, tears were shed, and awkward moments were shared (emphasis on awkward moments were shared). Lexi and Jess sought validation, but only Lexi found it. Jess was sent home suddenly after sharing that she was falling for Joey. He could not reciprocate and decided it was best to rip the band-aid off. Ouch, ay. Jenn received the group date rose. We don’t think she’s going to win Joey’s heart but we’re officially putting her on Bachelorette watch.
Kelsey T. received the first one-on-one. She and Joey participated in a Cirque du Soleil advertisement- err I mean training. Their connection soared, bodies sored, and Joey got motion sickness. He took an L, but he bounced back and took Kelsey T. to dinner. She shared the difficult story of her relationship with her dad, whom she lost touch with after his displeasure with her for not being religious. Joey could tell that Kelsey T. was a strong person however we didn’t feel the strength of their connection, despite her receiving a rose.
Then we got what we’re going to say was THE highlight of the season so far. Maria and Joey’s one-on-one. One word, magic. More words, we are officially rooting for Maria to win. We want her to win Joey’s heart, the lottery, Super Bowl championships, whatever she wants. We want her to win. What did they do, you ask? Does it matter? Alright, they went on a romantic sunset helicopter ride. They literally rolled out the red carpet for them. Everything (Maria) was flirty, sexy, and fun! It was as good as a one-on-one can possibly go.
We had our first major surprise in Lexi deciding to leave on her own accord. She explained to Joey that because she has endometriosis, having children sooner rather than later is important to her. She felt that their timelines just did not match up. Fair enough. Like Joey, we just did not see it coming.
At the cocktail party Jenn and Joey played piano, Rachel shared some kind words, and Daisy kicked her feet up…in Joey’s lap…for a foot massage. One of these things is not like the other. This was a flex that only front runner’s are allowed to make. Later in the evening we lost Lea and Katelyn at the rose ceremony.
Rose Recap
Lexi’s decision to leave the show left us one rose short of a perfect week. It would probably be fair to count her decision as a disqualification rather than a missed prediction, however we don’t take the easy way out here. We correctly predicted Jess, Lea, and Katelyn as the bottom three. So we correctly guessed five out of the six roses given out by Joey.
